“I hope you will continue in future helping young students like me. It gives a lot of confidence and support.”
Newark student, 2008
The RAB Trust is run by a board of trustees who meet annually to consider applications. Support for the trust comes from a number of sources including charities such as The Radcliffe Trust, Education Services and the Robinson Trust. In 2005 the family of the late Wilfred Saunders (who was a founder member of the Trust) set up a memorial fund in his name, the proceeds of which they generously donated to the Rowan-Armour Brown Trust. We are also grateful for a number of individual donations.
The RAB Trustees are:
Juliet Barker - Violin maker and founder director of The Violin Workshop in Cambridge
Judith Blackwell - Secretary of the Trust and independent violin restorer based in Northumberland
Paul Bowers - Independent violin maker based in Edinburgh
Rachel Douglas - Chair of the Trust and former director of Frederick Phelps Ltd
Colin Garrett - Treasurer of the Trust and independent violin repairer based in Hertfordshire
Paul Gosling - Independent violin restorer based in Newark and tutor at the Newark School of Violin Making
Helen Michetschläger - Independent violin maker based in Manchester
Elaine Spicer - Bow specialist working for J&A Beare
