Manuel comes from Italy, and is currently in his final year at Newark.  In 2006, The RAB Trust gave him an award which paid for some repair tools and  the wood for making a cello, photographed here in the making.  The cello is based on Giuseppe Guarneri. 

In 2007 Manuel was awarded funding for a workshop placement, and the choice of a set of maple from Elston Sawmill.
