Igor was awarded a grant in 2006 to buy specialist carving gouges which were used to make the viola da gamba illustrated.  In 2008 he was awarded a grant which he used to buy the fittings for the violin and cello pictured below.

Having completed the course at Newark, Igor is spending a year doing outwork for a shop including setting up violins and violas, as well as spending as much time as possible making violins, violas and violas da gamba.

Igor writes about the award he received:

"The Trust was an enormous help for me, offering two awards, once to buy some carving gouges and second to help to buy fittings for my cello and test violin. I would like to thank a lot , it means a lot to me and I hope you will continue in future helping an young students like me. It gives a lot of confidence and support."
