Ian McWilliams
Ian McWilliams was awarded funding in 2003 and 2005 to purchase tools and books.  Carving is a particular interest of Ian's and he used part of the Trust funding to buy carving tools which were used to make the instrument illustrated.

The instrument shown in these photos is based on a six string bass viol by Edward Lewis c.1680.  This viol was made during Ian's second year at West Dean College.
