How you can help
contact.html

There are three main areas in which the RAB Trust is looking for support.  Please contact Judith Blackwell, RAB Trust secretary, if you wish to offer help in any way.

Funding is needed so that grants can be awarded to students who display particular merit.  We welcome individual donations; you can simply send a cheque made payable to Rowan Armour-Brown Memorial Trust Fund to the secretary; the address is on the contact page.  If you prefer to make a regular donation, please download RAB donation form.pdf, complete it and return to the Trust.

We are also dependent on long-term funding from corporate bodies.  If your organisation would like to help in this way, please contact us.

Workshops both large and small are invited to offer work experience to students who need to develop their skills in a real-world environment.  Placements can be as short as one day, or as long as a fortnight, and can offer making, repairing, bow work.  The trustees make efforts to place students where they will fit in well and make a positive contribution.

Tools, materials, books and instrument cases are always urgently needed.  Donated items are carefully allocated to the students who will make the best use of them.  We gratefully accept all donations, from singe tools to complete workshops, and can often arrange collection if required.

In addition to gifts of wood, tools and funding from individuals, the contents of seven complete workshops have been donated to date, including the workshops of Cyril Noble (2006), Yasuo Ichinose (2008), Don Tatem (2008), tools from the workshops of John Miller (2009) and Dietrich Kessler (2009).

“I wish to thank everyone at the RAB Trust for generously awarding me some excellent tools. With these tools, I now feel confident and look forward to making more instruments and developing my style.”
West Dean student, 2010
