There are three main areas in which the RAB Trust is looking for support or to further its aims:

Funding is needed so that grants can be directly awarded to students who display particular merit.  We welcome individual donations as well as for long-term funding from corporate bodies.

Workshops both large and small are invited to offer work experience to students, who need to find out what life is like in the real world.

Tools, materials, books and instrument cases are always urgently needed by students.  Donated items are distributed between the UK violin making schools.   We gratefully accept all donations, from single tools to complete workshops, and can often arrange collection if required.

The RAB Trust gratefully acknowledges support from the following trusts and individuals:

  • The Radcliffe Trust
  • Education Services
  • Robinson Trust
  • In 2005 the family of the late Wilfred Saunders (who was a founder member of the Trust) set up a memorial fund in his name, the proceeds of which they generously donated to the Rowan-Armour Brown Trust

In addition to gifts of wood, tools and funding from individuals, the contents of seven complete workshops have been donated to date, including:

  • the workshop of Cyril Noble (2006)
  • the workshop of Yasuo Ichinose (2008)
  • the workshop of Don Tatem (2008)
