Mette-Mari was given an award during her final year at Newark. This was to help her buy repair cramps, retouching brushes and bow hair which she has used now that she is working for a restorer in Oslo, back in her native Norway.
The photographs show the cramps in use on a cello she is repairing. She has glued a crack running under the bass bar, and then fitted studs which will reinforce the crack, with the bar running over them.
