Marcas Ó'Bardáin

Marcas was awarded a week’s work experience at Philip Brown Violins in Newbury.  He writes of this:

“During this week we had the unenviable task of having to repair, set-up and resuscitate about 30 student cellos and a couple of small-size double basses from the Maestro Music Trust. Fortunately I was not left to this task on my own, I was helping (or hindering) Andres Enssle who was in the year ahead of me at Newark and also Rose Handy who was in the year behind me. I also was given a set-up to do on a violin and also the mission to secure and make steady a rickety workbench that I'm sure had caused annoyance and botheration to many former and current employees.

Phil Brown was very welcoming and patient and it was a good opportunity to catch up again with Andres in a real workshop environment.

I'd like to thank the RAB Trust for giving me this opportunity. It was a week well spent and thoroughly enjoyed!”
