Lucy was awarded a grant towards the cost of wood for making her first cello. She was also given a workshop placement with David Rattray in London, where she had the opportunity to make a scroll based on a Gasparo da Salo and to undertake her first neck graft on this scroll (pictured below).
During her third year at Newark, Lucy was given a further grant towards the purchase of tools.
